If you have lots of these, a bottle brush on a long wire handle is an indispensable tool. The easiest method for cleaning the insides of bottles and vases is to fill them up with a solution of mild soap or ammonia and water and set them aside overnight. Pour some of the soapy water out the next day, shake the remaining solution vigorously, and then rinse well.
Washing bottles in the dishwasher is an easy method of cleaning many bottles, but check to make sure they are dishwasher-safe first. Dishwasher detergent is too harsh for use on hand-painted pieces or those with metallic ornamentation.
