The outside case of a laptop computer can be cleaned with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Stubborn fingerprints and smudges on the case may be removed using a few drops of rubbing alcohol applied to a cloth or paper towel. Avoid using stronger solvents, which may mar the plastic case.
The display screen, however, is a different story. Displays are typically made of very soft plastics that are easily damaged, and they’re expensive to replace. Consult your model’s manual — or the manufacturer’s Web site — for tips on cleaning the screen. As with any electronic component or electrical appliance, never spray or pour any liquid directly onto a laptop computer case or display.
