Ironing board

Cloth ironing-board covers should be washed in the clothes washer occasionally. When finished, remove the cover from the washer while still damp and replace it on ironing board to avoid shrinkage. Using a medium setting, iron the cover itself to speed drying time.

The moving parts of a portable ironing board should be lubricated once in a while. Spray a small amount of an aerosol penetrating oil or silicone spray onto every working joint. It helps to have a paper-towel sheet handy to wipe up the inevitable drips and overspray.
