  1. Use rust remover, applied with cotton swabs (e.g., Whink Rust Stain Remover®, Instant Rust Out®, Iron Out Rust and Stain Remover®, etc.)
  2. Rinse with warm water or flush with a personal extractor (such as a carpet cleaning machine with water-only rinse setting).
  3. Dry the spot with a hair dryer or fan.
