Extension pole

A telescoping tool used to reach high surfaces, extension poles help you get scrubbers, strip washers, sponges, squeegees, and paint rollers up to windows and walls without using a ladder. Also known as extension handles, these tools feature two or more locking sections that can extend one’s reach from 8 feet to 30 feet. Janitorial-goods suppliers and some home centers and hardware stores sell these cleaning and painting accessories.

 

An eight-foot pole is ideal for use in most homes with standard ceiling heights. Consider a longer pole for outdoor use, or if your home has vaulted ceilings or any wall higher than the normal 7 1/2 feet to 8 feet above the floor.
