A variety of tools are available for removal of soils from flooring. Dust and hair may be removed by bringing them into contact with materials to which they readily adhere, such as a wet mop or microfiber cloth. Other soils, such as dried beverage spills, require wet cleaning to break their adhesion to a surface. In both cases, the use of a long handle allows the user to stand upright and work with less tiring physical effort.
