Answering machine

Answering machines, like a host of other household appliances today, are typically housed in high impact, hard plastic cases. These need frequent dusting. For fingerprint marks or grime, use a small amount of rubbing alcohol applied to a soft cloth or a paper towel, then buff dry with a clean, soft towel. Avoid products containing perfumes or skin moisturizers.

Avoid using other household cleaners, whose alkaline solutions can damage the plastic. Never pour or spray a cleaning fluid onto any electronic device. Abrasives should not be used to clean plastic since it scratches easily, increasing the difficulty of future cleaning.

The Housekeeping Channel (HC), a for-profit educational LLC, provides the information on HousekeepingChannel.com as a free service to the public. The intent is to disseminate accurate, verified and science-based information on cleaning and housekeeping.
