Self-Cleaning Carpeting?

Odor-Eaters carpets and carpet pads are impregnated with [friendly bacteria and] natural bacterial enzymes that are activated by moisture. These enzymes are similar to those that transform milk into yogurt and cheese, and water, malt, barley and hops into beer.

These self-cleaning carpets will consume the aftermath of any organically based accident. This means that neither the odor nor the stain from spilled milk, broken eggs, greasy burgers, dropped beer, sick dogs or drunken debauches will become permanent.

This is almost as good as growing a low-maintenance groundcover in the living room.

If your accidents are inorganic, you may be out of luck. Try to avoid spilling ink, paint, tar or nail polish on your carpet.

Odor-Eaters carpet cushions come in six-foot-wide rolls and can be used under wall-to-wall carpeting or area rugs. They are available at retail carpet stores.
