The Clean Team has gone through quite a few vacuums since 1979, and they've tried every major brand. They believe the ideal vacuum should:
- Be the canister type
- Have 75 inches or more of static or water lift (a measure of suction power)
- Be comfortable to hold and use
- Have an on/off switch that's easy to reach (preferably with your foot)
- Be able to vacuum under most furniture
- Not tip over when yanked by the hose
- Have a hose that never twists during use
- Have a handle for easy lifting
- Be light enough to spare your back
- Have a paper dust bag that's large enough to last for weeks, plus a pleated filter that traps particles down to 0.5 micron
- Cost less than $400
The Big Vac offers:
- 91 inches of static or water lift
- Very quiet operation: 65 dB(A)
- 0.5-micron exhaust filtration
- 6-foot hose
- Powerful, high-suction turbo head with beater bar
- Rugged, high-impact housing
- Light weight (only 13-1/2 lb.) and ease of maneuvering
- 920 watts, 8 amps
- Large rear wheels and low center of gravity prevent tipping
- Compact size: 15" x 12" x 12"
- Complete set of attachments, 3 vacuum bags, and exhaust filter

HEPA Filter
A HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter will capture 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns or larger (10 microns is as small as someone with good vision can see). HEPA filters were originally developed to trap radioactive dust in atomic power plants, and they have since been put to use in removing microscopic asbestos particles. Especially for those who are made miserable by allergies or sensitivity to dust, this vacuum will provide real relief. Your doctor may want you to take additional steps, but this filter is a great start.
