Rating Disclaimer
Reviewing products, like reviewing movies or restaurants, is arguably a subjective process (even for well-funded consumer groups) based on the review criteria (what the reviewer considers important) and the unique perspective of the reviewer. Thus, when considering The Housekeeping Channel's reviews, please do not use the numerical product ratings (e.g., "9.5 out of 10") for direct product comparison purposes since these represent the unique 'take' of each reviewer, and will often vary qualitatively and quantitatively from product to product.
Do rely on the text of the reviews for issues to consider when purchasing similar products, and do consider the scientific data supplied (for example, information from the Carpet and Rug Institute's Seal of Approval-related research) that will help you in your decision making process. We believe the "truth" about products can only be discovered by weighing, then averaging, a number of factors and credible viewpoints based on available resources and science, then making buying decisions based on what is important to you.

Pros
- No need for a dustpan.
- Great for quick, dry, messes on hard surfaces.
Cons

The Dirt Devil Broom Vac is cordless and sweeps and vacuums in one step. To start, push the foot switch, located on top of the dirt canister, with the tip of your toe. The dirt or dry spill goes directly into the canister so there is no need for a dustpan. The canister easily snaps off with the push of a button, located on the side. Remove the filter inside the canister to empty the debris. The canister does not have to be emptied after each spill; however, users should not let debris collect over the enclosed filter. Debris is filtered through a replaceable filter, eliminating problems with clogging the device.

To recharge the
Broom Vac plug in the adaptor. Measuring 21 by 13 by 4 inches and weighing three and a half pounds, it is still light enough for most users.
This
Broom Vac is designed for dry messes on hard floor surfaces: wood, linoleum,
marble and tile. However, the
Broom Vac is NOT designed to pick up wet messes and should not be used in that manner.
Priced at $49.99 the Broom Vac is both a good value and a tool you may use quite often.
