AsteriskRating Disclaimer

Reviewing products, like reviewing movies or restaurants, is arguably a subjective process (even for well-funded consumer groups) based on the review criteria (what the reviewer considers important) and the unique perspective of the reviewer. Thus, when considering The Housekeeping Channel's reviews, please do not use the numerical product ratings (e.g., "9.5 out of 10") for direct product comparison purposes since these represent the unique 'take' of each reviewer, and will often vary qualitatively and quantitatively from product to product.

Do rely on the text of the reviews for issues to consider when purchasing similar products, and do consider the scientific data supplied (for example, information from the Carpet and Rug Institute's Seal of Approval-related research) that will help you in your decision making process. We believe the "truth" about products can only be discovered by weighing, then averaging, a number of factors and credible viewpoints based on available resources and science, then making buying decisions based on what is important to you.

Stain-X Neutral Clean Floor Cleaner - literally a pH neutral cleaner - targets vinyl, ceramic tile and linoleum floors. Of these surfaces, we tested the product on both vinyl and tile flooring.

At Quality Cleaning Maid to Order, we prefer a floor cleaner that effectively and easily removes soils, and leaves a residue-free shine. We tested Stain-X Neutral Clean Floor Cleaner both in our mop water (in conjunction with a microfiber mopping system) and in our Floor Mate floor cleaners. While there were no outstanding footprints or spills on our dirty test floor, it showed normal wear and tear after the two weeks since its previous cleaning.

In the easy category, no rinsing was required. The scent was light and dissipated fast. We were pleased with the results of all tests for this product; however, we thought the price was a little high at $12 per 32 oz. bottle, though it's a concentrate and should be mixed per the recommended dilutions below.

Light soil: Dilute 1/4 cup of concentrate per gallon of water.

Medium and heavy soil: Dilute 1/2 cup of concentrate per gallon of water.
