For many years, string or sponge mops were the tool of choice for cleaning professionals. There are many mops on the market to choose from today, and the StarMop Pro™ is certainly a product to consider according to reviewers at The Maids Home Services, Omaha NE.
Product testers found that the StarMop Pro™ cleaned well wet or dry, and that the mop was very easy to use. The mop's 17"x5" pad and 59-inch extendable handle enabled users to access many hard-to-reach areas. The mop head’s thin profile was noted as an excellent benefit because it enabled reviewers to easily reach under furniture and appliances.
Reviewers noted that the microfiber mop head, which can be washed up to 300 times, picked up dirt better than string or sponge mops. They also believe that the microfiber mop head will last longer than string or sponge mops.
Members of the review team used the StarMop Pro™ with a standard bucket or sink because they felt this would be the approach used by the majority of residential customers. They found the mop to be very efficient, easy to rinse, and faster than other methods.
They also determined that spraying directly on the microfiber was a clean, easy and effective process, while also stressing the need to have multiple microfiber pads to change for heavy soiled floors, large areas and bathrooms when cleaning this way.
Reviewers also said that the StarMop Pro’s cost is quite reasonable; an additional benefit to the product’s cleaning capabilities.
Manufacturer's Comments
The appropriate method for using the mop is to spray the floor or pad with a light mist and avoid over-wetting the pad. The result is a very clean surface with only micro-beads of water remaining. The micro-beads dry in 10-30 seconds rather than several minutes as with traditional mops. It is true that in large areas, the user will need multiple pads however, the process is more effective and reduces cleaning time since the user is not forced to change dirty water or rinse the pads in a sink. Finally, unfamiliar users are not aware of the absorption properties of good microfiber and frequently feel the need to change the pad more often than necessary because it looks dirty. In fact, the pad may look dirty but because the dirt is trapped deep in the fiber, it remains effective much longer. We demonstrate this by cleaning up grease from the floor and then using the same pad or cloth to clean grease from a mirror. Again, the result is a streak free finish despite the apparent grease in the microfiber.
