The Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum has a number of great features. The quick release wand of the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is great for being able to switch between the floor cleaning tools and attachments on the go. The benefit of the quick release wand is that you don't have to unplug any cords to remove the vacuum head. You simply step on the quick release and the vacuum head easily and quickly comes off.

My favorite feature of the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is the dirt sensor. The Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum has a light that glows yellow when dirt is being removed from your floors and green when the floors are clean. This feature takes all of the guess work out of cleaning floors, and encourages you to vacuum slower. For asthma and allergy sufferers vacuuming slowly allows you to remove much more of the triggers from your home than vacuuming more quickly does.

 

The Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum also has an excellent HEPA filtration system. The HEPA filter in the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is larger and higher quality than many of the household HEPA filters that I have used. The Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum's filtration system is also sealed so that dust and asthma/allergy triggers can't escape the filter and return to your home.

 

The beater brush of the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is also easy to turn off via a handle mounted switch. Once the beater brush is turned off, the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum makes an excellent hard floor vacuum. The handle mounted controls also allow you to adjust the suction power of the vacuum, allowing you to clean curtains, upholstery and delicate fabrics with ease. The handle mounted controls also mean less bending and stooping while you clean.

 

Attachments included with the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum are a crevice tool, dusting tool, and upholstery brush. All attachments work well and have excellent suction. The Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum also includes an auto-rewind cord that is long enough to give you excellent cleaning range. The Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum also features an automatic height adjustment for the vacuum head.

 

Cleaning with the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum

 

In use the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is very quite for a powerful, full size canister vacuum. While not as quiet as the Bosch Formula Electro Duo HEPA, the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is quieter than most uprights. The Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is the first vacuum I have used that made me regret buying my Bosch Formula canister; the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is that good.

 

I used the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum to clean the tile floors in my

home. The Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum's suction power is so good, that it actually pulls dirt and debris into the vacuum just by getting close to it. The automatic height adjustment means that you can go from hard floors to carpeting to area rugs without having to stop and make height adjustments. The auto height adjustment may well be the feature of the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum that saves you the most time.

 

The Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is a bagged design. The vacuum bag features a rubber gasket to minimize the chance of leakage from the bag area before the air can be filtered with the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum's excellent HEPA filtration system.

 

Overall, the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum is the most effective and easiest to use canister vacuum I have tested. Asthma and allergy sufferers will love the features of the Riccar 1800 Canister Vacuum and its ability to remove triggers from your home.
