The FilterStream DustTamer Deluxe D4200 is an excellent dusting tool. The 22-inch dusting wand is extendable to allow you to reach most surfaces in your home and vehicle. The genuine lambswool dusting wand picks up dirt like a magnet and keeps it inside the duster until you place it into the vacuum chamber.

The cordless vacuum chamber included with the FilterStream DustTamer Deluxe D4200 is bagless and HEPA filtered. While a bagless design may not be the best style for asthmatics, care when emptying the dust chamber will reduce the chance of getting the dust you just removed back into your home and your lungs.

 

The FilterStream DustTamer Deluxe D4200 did a great job of removing built up dust from ceiling fans, and let a minimum amount of dust escape into the air. The FilterStream DustTamer Deluxe D4200 also picks up large bits of crumbs and debris surprisingly well using the lambswool duster.

 

The single problem I found with the FilterStream DustTamer Deluxe D4200 was when I used it to dust my car. While the dusting wand removed the dirt with no problems from the interior, the automatic "On" function of the vacuum chamber did not work in bright light. Indoors, the HEPA filtered vacuum chamber automatically turns on thanks to a sensor on the mouth of the vacuum chamber. Outside in bright sunlight the sensor was not always able to tell when the dusting wand was inserted into the vacuum chamber and often the vacuum would not turn on. I found that shading the sensor area would typically allow the vacuum to function.

 

Overall, the FilterStream DustTamer Deluxe D4200 is a great dusting tool for asthmatics and allergy sufferers as well as anyone else who simply wants the dust they remove from their home to stay gone.
